Gartner Magic Quadrant 2026: Who Rules E-Commerce Search

Gartner published its new Magic Quadrant for Search and Product Discovery in June 2026. This year the analyst firm names Algolia, Coveo, Bloomreach, Constructor and Netcore Unbxd as Leaders.

The leaders at a glance

Constructor is placed furthest to the top right of the current quadrant, with the highest ability to execute and the most complete vision. Algolia and Bloomreach each appear in the Leaders quadrant for the third consecutive year. Coveo and Netcore Unbxd complete the leading group.

The Magic Quadrant rates vendors along two axes: Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. For digital commerce decision-makers it serves as a market overview for search and product discovery initiatives.

From search box to product discovery

The category name itself signals the market shift: onsite search has become "Search and Product Discovery". Classic full-text search is no longer enough for a top placement. The focus is on semantic search, personalisation and AI-driven merchandising.

According to Gartner, the 2026 competition was decided largely by how convincingly vendors apply AI to product discovery and relevance.

Assessment

For shop operators, the quadrant is a starting point for vendor selection, not a substitute for it. A Leader placement describes a vendor's market strength, roadmap and ability to execute. It says little about how well a tool is configured and operated in a specific shop. What matters is whether a solution fits the assortment, team and budget, and who continues to develop the search after go-live.

Where FACT-Finder, a vendor widely used in German-speaking markets, sits in the 2026 quadrant is not clear from the publicly available information so far. It was included in last year's edition.
